This was my third time at Bryce Canyon and it never ceases to disappoint! This trip combined with the trip from two years ago together gave us a great tour of the park. It would be possible to do both days in one but only if you were staying in the area both the night before and the following night. Two years ago we wanted to arrive at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and this year we wanted to end up near Capitol Reef National Park. With all our journeys the goal is to be at the park as early as possible especially when in areas where the afternoon temperatures are brutal!
Bryce Canyon is located at the highest elevation when compared to Utah's other National Parks so it definitely has lower temperatures! There are areas, in the bottom of the canyon where the elevation is 6,600 feet and the viewpoints, along the rim, sit between 8,000 and 9,115 feet. It is important to be mindful of recommended techniques to avoid altitude sickness!
Photos from this trip can be viewed here. Most photos were from our hike down the Wall Street Trail (starting at Sunset Point) and then out of the canyon via the Queens Garden Trail (ending at Sunrise Point). We did drive to Inspiration Point as that is personally my favorite view point. Finally, after we left the main part of the park, we stopped and hiked the Mossy Cave Trail where you can follow a human made ditch/creek to view a waterfall!
Photos from our trip in 2024 can be viewed here. On this trip we simply drove the scenic drive and stop at most of the view points ending with Inspiration Point.
